Global lifestyle brand MINISO has collaborated with Chiikawa, one of the most popular character brands in Japan today, to spread new fun and joy to customers in the US. Chiikawa, born from a social media manga and named for the main character meaning “something small and cute” has become a pop culture phenomenon across Japan and Asia. Known for its cute and comforting art style, the beloved Chiikawa, along with friends Hachiware and Usagi are coming to an exclusive pop-up store in Flushing, Queens, New York this month.
MINISO’s first-ever short-term pop-up in the country will debut at the Tangram Shopping Mall with Chiikawa from 9 August to 7 September. A popular destination for young consumers in the heart of Flushing’s commercial district, the free-standing pop-up will allow customers to step into the adorable world of Chiikawa and purchase exclusive co-branded products.
With an enchanting design, including a massive 3D figure on the roof and featuring comic inspired images, the pop-up store will carry nearly 100 offerings, including cute plush toys, bags, stationery and various lifestyle products, making it the most comprehensive collection of MINISO X Chiikawa merchandise in the US.
